A design studio
inside a mill.

Most design studios hand a package to a manufacturer and hope. Ours is the manufacturer. The people building your range in Barcelona know the fabric and the finishing route it will be made on — so what leaves the studio is already achievable.

What We Do

Engage at any point in the season

A full range from a mood board or one concept.

  • Trend and colour direction. Season-ahead direction built for knit specifically, from our own development rather than a licensed forecast filtered down to fabric. SS27 knit direction is complete; FW28 is in development now.
  • Range architecture. Structuring an assortment across price points, bodies, deliveries.
  • Fabric development. Building a season's fabric story from our library, then developing what does not exist yet.
  • Tech packs and CADs. Production-ready packages: construction, graded measurements, bill of materials, trims, labelling, packing.
  • Fit and grading. Block development, fit correction through the run, and grade rules to your size set — including extended womenswear and full childrenswear ranges from layette to teen.
By Category

Three disciplines, one studio

01

Womenswear

The category with the least tolerance for a slow calendar. Colour and silhouette turn over fastest, and a fabric that arrives two weeks late has usually missed the reason it was designed. Our approach is to hold a small number of proven base constructions and drive seasonal newness through colour, finish, wash and structure — which shortens development and consolidates yarn buying at the same time. Extended sizing is developed as part of the block, not graded up from a sample size afterwards.

Menswear

Fewer bodies, longer lifecycles, heavy carryover. The commercial risk is not missing a trend, it is a reorder that does not match the first order. That makes it a fabric and process problem, which is where owning the knitting and dyeing matters: the same yarn position, the same machine, the same finishing route, with the approved standard retained between seasons. Piqué, jersey, waffle, fine stripe and knit jacquard are the constructions we develop most often for this category.

Childrenswear

The most constrained of the three, and the one where design and compliance are the same conversation. European safety standards restrict what can be drawn, not just what can be shipped: cords and drawstrings in the hood and neck area are effectively prohibited on younger sizes under EN 14682, small components have to survive pull testing, and metal trims carry nickel release limits. We make those calls in Barcelona at sketch stage, substituting a rib collar for a drawcord, moving a snap, changing an applique attachment, rather than discovering them in a pre-production report. Grading is the other discipline: a range running from layette to sixteen years can carry twenty size breaks, and the rules have to hold across all of them.

Safety standards are the brand's legal responsibility as the party placing the product on the EU market. What we do is design and build so the tests pass, and supply the documentation to evidence it.

The handoff that costs brands weeks

When design and manufacturing sit in different companies, every ambiguity in a tech pack becomes a thread across eight time zones. A knit-down comes back too heavy. A handfeel comment gets translated twice. Two weeks disappear, and the calendar absorbs it by cutting fit rounds, which is where fit problems come from.

Our packages are written against our own machinery, yarn positions and finishing routes. When a construction will not hit your target cost, you hear it during design. When a childrenswear trim will not pass a pull test, it is changed on the CAD. The round trip that normally costs a week happens inside one building.
